Hello Guys,

For those of you applying to Haskayne Calgary, I got this reply from Micheline, the admission officer there:

"You will need to send the official transcripts, IELTS and GMAT. The committee will not look at files that are not complete. Please let me know if you have any other questions."

So that is going to take a while even to send the reports..

The credibility of Haskayne is definitely worthy to consider, and so better than Ryerson.

Finances shouldn't be your biggest worry as you could try for scholarships, and of course a loan from Prodigy Finance.


Thanks for the valuable inputs. But as far as I know, Canadian colleges are not too generous in granting aids as much as US colleges.

Hi guys,

I just wanted to know everybody's thought process as to why everyone has rated SFU the best of the lot mentioned above and Haskayne as one of the least.

SFU shares the same region as UBC sauder and hence employment opportunities might be shared. But Haskayne is on its own in its area and its placement stats at least as per their own respective sites look way better.

Am i missing something here?

bro,it is coz of the situation in calgary right now.there are heavy job cuts in alberta especially in calgary coz of oil price drop. Else,Haskayne is one of the best for ROI

My reasoning was based on:
Location : Vancouver, and the proximity to UBC might be an advantage.
Class Size : Small classes of roughly 55 students. Should help.
Fee of Haskayne is higher than Beedie.

Haskayne is a good school, but the province seems to be having a slow economy at the moment. Prediction is that it will bounce back in a year, but..

Thank you for sharing this information dominicraj. This helped me decide and drop Haskayne from my list.
Not worth the trouble I think.

Hey Sohil, it is going to be something very generic that does not require preparation. You will have two sample questions to try out, so please use them to get a fair idea.
Eg would be : How would you explain facebook to your grandmother.
This is an example from the same kira talent, but for Schulich. I am thinking it would be very similar as Alberta is using Kira talent too.

how long does it take for them to interview and publish results? My interview was done about a week back and i haven't heard from them yet.. Do you guys think i should drop a note to them?

Standard is two weeks. So you may be better waiting a little while longer.

I mailed them 2 weeks after my interview.Chris did promptly respond back...so u are better off waiting for 1 more week.
