I am a prospective applicant. Any ideas on what I could expect during the interview? Do you get to know who the interviewer is beforehand?

Yes, they let you know beforehand who the interviewer is. My advice is to know your profile and why you want a mba. It's very relaxed and lasts about 45 minutes.

Any insights on financing?? Also, what other schools is everyone applying too?

I am an international student. My financing options are limited to the educational loans available from financial institutions in my home country.

I am yet to hear from McGill/Desautels regarding my fate.

On another note, does anyone have any thought on the Montreal job market and hiring mba grads from McGill?

Here's what I understand from my research

Montreal is the second largest city in Canada after Toronto but also home to more MBA students (read HEC, McGill, Concordia etc.). The job market in Montreal tends to be divisive in the sense that you'd have to be truly bilingual for certain jobs - that essentially splits job seekers in two - those that are bilingual and those that are not.

For those that are not bilingual - you'd probably be better off in expanding your job search outside of Montreal - Toronto, Calgary, Vancouver or even the US. You still have a good chance of landing jobs in Montreal - you just have to work that much harder, network that much better.

If you are interested in Marketing related jobs in Montreal post your MBA - you better well be bilingual.

No group that I am aware of. Also, I haven't really come across any groups for current students either. I wonder if McGill will initiate anything during the summer to connect and bring together new students. I suppose you could always start a group.
