aerian/machichi/etc, can any of you offer insight as to which day of the week is best to visit? Maybe which day of the week has the most representative class to experience?

We just finished the first quarter of classes (we're in the middle of exam week!), so I can't speak very knowledgeably about our classes for next quarter. That said here's the schedule:

Monday/Wednesday
Investor
Competitor

Tuesday/Thursday
Customer
Sourcing and Managing Funds

Looking at the class titles, I think you'll agree they're all quite representative of Yale's integrated core curriculum. Just don't come on a Friday if you want to sit in on a class with first years. I've also heard through admissions that they're encouraging students to come next semester when the new building is open. We're all in for a treat starting January!

Yeah, their site says:

Quote:
Please note: If you're applying in Round 1 and plan to visit campus, you may schedule your campus visit here. Space is very limited until we move to Edward P. Evans Hall in January 2014. If you are applying in Round 2, Round 3, or in future academic years, we strongly encourage you to visit after January 2014 when we have transitioned to Evans Hall. Registration will be available online by early January 2014, and visits will be offered February through April 2014.

But whatever, they won't look down upon me for visiting before January right?

Thanks for the schedule, that was exactly what I was looking for.. M/W sounds more interesting to me :-P

Good luck on your exams and enjoy fall break!

They really do! The subject of those e-mails should be "don't panic, just a newsletter".

Hey guys, when you made your interview did you get a confirmation email? Or a chance to schedule a tour or class visit? All I did was selected my date/time and clicked "respond" and that was it.

If you look at last years thread, people were invited up until a month before the deadline which in our case is Dec 9th. I will not give up until first week of November.

I got a follow-up email the day after I signed up confirming my slot and offering the full day of activities. If you don't receive it by end of day Tuesday you could check with them.

FYI - the schedule varies from their main site if you chose a Friday slot...

Does anyone know what Yale SOM's feeling is regarding entrepreneurs. Is the school actively seeking entrepreneurs as some other top names are?
Thanks

Invites will trickle -- look at last year's thread. Invites certainly went out from basically the week after you submitted your app through at least the beginning of November (dates of last year's posts do not lie though so look there)

Entrepreneurship is really big at SOM right now. Beyond the Entrepreneurship Club which helps students with pitches, ideas, etc, there's also the Yale Entrepreneurial Institute, which has amazing resources for all things start-up. I look at it as Yale's start-up incubator since there's people there who not only focus (basically) full-time on their start-up ventures, but there's also other programs that help students develop their entrepreneurial skills before fully jumping into starting your own business. What comes to mind immediately is the technology consultancy program which pairs students with faculty who have new inventions as well as the VC advisors program. If you have an idea you think is viable, you can use your summer to work on your idea and the school will give you $$ to help you out with that development.

Check out https://yei.yale.edu/ for more detailed info. I only know the basics of what's out there, and I'm sure this very brief post only features a small small part of the resources that are available.
