  • Finding the right MBA admissions consultant is a complicated business. An article in b.net explains how students can find the perfect consultant to fit their needs.  B.net turns to Accepted’s own Linda Abraham for advice: “Review a consultant’s website and offerings, then think hard. ‘Do you like what you see? Do they provide clear descriptions of services and prices? Do they offer want you want? How long have they been in business? What are their qualifications?’”
  • The Wall Street Journal spoke with Columbia’s Business Dean, R. Glenn Hubbard, about his belief that the financial crisis was part of an educational failure on the part of business schools. As a result, Hubbard explained that Columbia will begin teaching decision-making and ethics in its classes.
  • University of Wisconsin-Madison announced that Francois Ortalo-Magné, chair of the Real Estate and Urban Land Economics Department, will be the new dean of the Wisconsin School of Business. UW-Madison Chancellor Biddy Martin believes "François has the intellectual energy and ambition to help the School of Business reach new levels."
  • Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth announced that it is joining a new Global Alliance of Schools of Management. Part of the alliance’s role is to organize an annual international forum for dialogue as a means of discussing pressing issues facing business and society. The four other top international business schools that will be joining Tuck are: ESSEC (France), the University of Mannheim Business School (Germany), School of Management, Fudan University (Shanghai), and Keio Business School (Tokyo).
  • French business school EMLYON announced that it has been selected to take part in the Hewlett Packard Catalyst Initiative, “a global social innovation programme” that will assist the school in improving its teaching of science, technology, engineering and math.  The initiative provides EMLYON with a grant valued at more than $150,000.
