Hey guys,

Just stumbled upon this site... really amazing won't lie.
I'm actually taking the GMAT in approximately 2 months. I'm doing my studying using the nine MGMAT guides + Official GMAT review 13th edition.
I'd appreciate if anyone could let me know if this seems like a reasonable study plan or not.

Hello,

I'm getting ready to begin preparing for the GMAT exam. After searching and reading I've narrowed my options down to a few books. I'm wondering if all are worth getting or if I should only get a couple of them. I have three months to prepare so I want to be realistic about how much I can actually read. Two toddles can make that a bit difficult.

The ones I am considering are:

1) Official GMAT Guide (Was thinking of getting the three books - are the quantitative and verbal worth it?)
2) Manhattan GMAT Guides set of 10
3) Kaplan Premier (is this worth it?)

Thank you! Any help is much appreciated!

Also, if you found this post helpful for you please give kudos! Would love as much practice help as I can get! Thanks!

Hey,

I've been trying to start studying for the GMAT for more than a year now.
I bought Kaplan GMAT Premier 2013 with 5 Online Practice Tests & Princeton Cracking the New GMAT 2013 at the beginning of 2013. I started studying in both of them for a while, then had to stop cause I changed jobs & had to spend most of my free time learning things for my current job.

I would like to start seriously this time and make a progress. I read your recommendations on this post and elsewhere, & I am honestly confused a little bit. I am allocating 4 months to study for this test. My target is 700.

I would appreciate any recommendations. For the time being I will buy the Official Guide 13. I am considering MGMAT too.

Please let me know if you have any advice.

Thank you,
S

it really depends on what lelvel you are at and how long ago you did Math.
I found foundations to be pretty easy and basic, but some will need it to get up to speed....

Hi,
I'm new to this forum as well as just started preparing for the GMAT exam.

I have the complete set of Manhattan Official guide (containing 10 volumes) as well as the Official guide for GMAT Review, Foundations of GMAT (Verbal & Math).
My question is weather this set of books are enough for my preparation?

Aiming for a score 750+
Please suggest as right now i am a bit concerned about this. Thanks in advance.

Hi

I am taking the GMAT in Oct this year. As a first step I thought I would buy 'The official guides for GMAT review'.

CONFUSION: The mba dot com websites shows that the 13th edition and 2nd edition in Quant & Verbal are the latest editions. But online retailers & the publisher wiley's websites have another version too 'The official guides for GMAT review 2015'.

Please guide me...which one should i buy...The 13th edition or the 2015 edition.

Hi, I would suggest you to wait for some 2 or 3 weeks. As the scheduled release of this book(2015 Version) as per amazon/wiley is 23rd July.

Also the Wiley website says that this is the ONLY official guide to have more than 900 retired problems (Most will be there in OG 13 also).

But many new retired questions will also be there.

It is always better to buy a new version. Also this is about to release in couple of weeks.

Re: Best GMAT Books - 2012 [#permalink] New post 21 Aug 2014, 03:42
Hi,

Im scheduled to be taking my GMAT on 20 September'14.
I was enrolled with Princeton Review in India.
- So far I have completed the Princeton Review material (online and Paper)
- I have completed the OG-13 edition, thereafter I started with the OG 12 edition
However iv observed that almost all of the questions in the OG 12edition are repeated(as in same as 13th edition)

As evident from the date above i currently have an entire month of Prep time on Hand.
Can someone please suggest a book that i can take to for practice in the remaining days (especially for Verbal).
My choice would be the Quant/Verbal review by GMAC. However if the questions are not going to be challenging enough then it will not make great practice for me.

Practice Test scores - 610 - 630 (on the Princeton tests)
I need to make it to 680 - 700..

Please suggest.

Best Regards.

QUANT book for GMAT 2014/2015 [#permalink] New post 28 Aug 2014, 18:33
I took the GMATprep from MBA.com and had a dismal performance to say the least. With Quant being my weakest subject I am looking for some good books to begin studying up. I am thinking about the following books.

Total GMAT Math by Jeff Sackmann

The Official Guide for GMAT Review Paperback

Foundations of GMAT Math, 5th Edition (Manhattan GMAT Preparation Guide: Foundations of Math)

I also downloaded the MAGOOSH Complete Guide to GMAT.

My main concern is with so much material available I do not want to get something that is out of date especially with the recent changes to the exam.

Any advice would be helpful. Thanks in advance.
