Hi everyone,

I want to start and complete my study without leaving any gaps. Specifically, I want to make sure that I have covered all the possible quantitative parts, and all the possible verbal parts, as well as a good quality practice tests. However, I do not want to have multiple books that aim for teaching the same field. There are so many books that you may get lost among them. So, does anyone have the suggestion about the best combination of books?

Best one to cover quantitative topics A to Z: ?
Best one to cover verbal topics A to Z: ?
Best one in terms of practice tests for 750+ score: ?

After reading this thread I started thinking that having ONLY OG and Manhattan GMAT would cover everything from A to Z. What do you think?

The score you might achieve is a fairly individual matter, but OG12 + OG Quant2 + OG Verbal2 + Manhattan GMAT 8 Guides Set is usually enough for an average student to reach his maximum potential.

After you start studying you might realize that you need extra work for certain sections or specific concepts, but other than that you should be fine as far as theory and basic exercising are concerned.

Gmatclub has a very good selection of upper level questions; personally I would use that instead of, for example, Kaplan's 800.

I am in the process of finishing the MGMAT math set (equations,fractions,word problems, numbers and equalities etc). I have finished OG 12 for all PS and DS questions on mathematics..In addition to these books i am considering doing the MGMAT advanced quant, and the Kaplan 800 ( both of which i have allready purchased) . I am looking for a score close to 50 on the quant. section of the GMAT. I would love to get opinions on whether i should buy more books for quant or move straight over to the OG13 and solving math secitons on the Kaplan, MGMAT CAT's that i have purchased.

For verbal I am halfway into the GMAT CLUB grammar book, after which i will be moving on to the MGMAT verbal set and the kaplan and Princeton review verbal books. I would appreciate some advice on some other materials for verbal , especially for Sentence correction as i find this aspect of the verbal section the hardest.

P.s - I am looking for a 700+ score on my GMAT and as per my assessment I am around the 80 percentile mark in quant after having finished the MGMAT set and the OG 12 ( 10 wrong answers out of the 230 OG12 PS timed) ...

For ease of it, you can just OG 13 + the MGMAT Guides - that's what most do.

You can also add a few options such as GMAT Roadmap (I like this one)
Foundations of GMAT Quant if you need quant extra basics
Foundations of GMAT Verbal if you need verbal extra help
And that's it.

This is plenty for about 3-4 months. :-)
you an also add the Kaplan Premier (1,100 pages and 6 CAT's for about $40) but that's only if you need extra CAT's

Can you tell us more about this Manhattan GMAT roadmap, will it be useful for somebody who has already taken GMAT, or is it good for fresh starters only and also a little about its contents.

Which book will you guys recommend, for practicing 700+ (score) Quant question which accurately simulate those that appear on the GMAT... I have been recommended KAPLAN 800 , and MGMAT advanced math book .. Any other book that discusses strategies and provides practice sets for that level of difficulty??

Hi,
Have been trying to figure out a final list of books to get started with my prep for the GMAt 2013. Would appreciate if any of you could simply list out a comprehensive set of books that would be sufficient to get started with and then may be move on to advanced levels of practice. For now, I am looking for just the basics that will help me get into the groove.
1. GMAT OG - 12th Edition (already have this one)
2. a good book for verbal
3. A good book for Quants
