Never mind that 100, its a default setting. You can go ahead and use 10 as full marks and whatever was the passing marks out of 10. I used the same.
I have transcript from BITS Pilani, so A means 10 and pass is D i.e. 4...so I used both....Remem one thing do not forget to take the print out of the marks that appears
just before the processing of final gpa. A the college requires the scanned copy of that alongwith the final gpa copy.

Havn't learned too much about ALP yet. Don't know all the details myself. I'm sure they are all in Houston else it would be impossible to attend the classes. I'm 90% certain the work is done on your own schedule, with your team. It is a big deal and we do a final presentation on it at the end of the semester.

My apologies for the vague response. First semester is very involved -- hard to think too far ahead! Especially given that it is internship recruiting season.

I submitted on 15/10/2013. Although my application was complete (2nd recommendation was received) only on 21st.

Btw, have you received an admit from somewhere else?

Hey Archit,

Thanx for the info. I'm gonna apply before R1 and was wondering if the process of undergrad score conversion is completely online?

If I use the WES service and take snapshots of my converted scores, will that be enough for the application OR would I need to request WES to send hard copies of my converted transcripts directly to Rice University?

Please clarify.

Hi Kunzi,

I too followed the same procedure which was elaborated by Archit above. Additionally, I had emailed adcom and asked them for their guidance. They replied to me mentioning that GPA conversion is recommended and NOT required. They said I could enter my GPA on the scale that my UG institution used. I however, used the WES GPA convertor and reported the converted GPA.

I was thinking of using the additional essay to explain this, mentioning to them the method followed and the justification for the conversion. However, I ran short of time and had to submit the application without the additional essay.

I now plan to email them and send them the details. I too hope they accept the self reported scores and do not consider this a breach of the statement of integrity.

Congrats on receiving an invite!

As with any interview, be prepared to answer the "tell me about yourself/walk me through your resume" question. The interview is blind in that your interviewer will have only seen your resume but not the rest of your application. Below is a link to a post from the admissions blog that covers most of what you should know and be prepared for. Also, have some insightful questions prepared when you get asked if you have any questions. Most importantly, just be yourself.
