Hey everyone!
if an applicant had a 670 GMAT (below average but in the 80% range) and a 3.8 GPA (above average) and average work experience of a couple years, would you consider that applicant to be competitive at Owen?
Yes. These numbers will definitely make them a competitive applicant.
I would recommend the following:
-Visit Owen to tour the building and get some face time the AdCom
-In the application come up with a very coherent story about Owen--Why an MBA? Why now? Why Owen? (The fact that Nashville is the target market should be a part of this...Vandy dominates the Nashville market!)
-Read about the program online so that if an interview invitation is offered, you can speak about which concentrations, emphases, specializations, study abroad programs, affinity clubs, and professional organizations Owen offers interest you. This will show you've done your due diligence and are seriously interested.
Good luck!
