Has anyone received the offer/admit letter in hard/soft or got any update on when we can expect the same ?

I received an email last night that said there was an issue with the mailings, but they are expecting to have the mailing and welcome gifts out by the end of the week

I have been waitlisted in round 1. Is there anyway to predict when or if an offer will open up? I don't think the GMAT is the issue because I scored close to the average.

Well with mixed feelings I have declined my Owen offer, hopefully this helps a couple of you on the wait list. It has been a fun thread, I wish everyone luck in their MBA adventure.

Hi, I am in the process of writing the essays and I'm a little overwhelmed with the number of essays that I have to write.
On top of the application page, I found a section which provided a link to the application instructions to identify which essays are mandatory. However, the link just led to a page where it said to write the "required essays" not specifying which ones. So which are the mandatory and optional essays?

Hi

I have the same query. Can anyone tell which all essays are mandatory and which are optional?

Hi,

I am in the process of finishing my Owen R2 application. I have a couple questions.

Unlike other schools, does Owen expect us to make official report of GMAT and TOEFL before the deadlines?

I have not yet reported my scores officially via mba.com and ets.org. Should I do it asap or do they need it after Admit is confirmed?

My deadlines are tomorrow, but GMAT and TOEFL reporting can take up to 1 week. Does that mean I don't meet the deadlines?

" I am pretty sure you only need to post the unofficials and if you get an acceptance they will validate those."

From the FAQ Section of the Owen website:
When should I submit my official transcripts and test scores?
1. Take the GMAT or GRE (GMAT is preferred) and TOEFL, PTE Academic or IELTS, if required, before submitting your application so that you can include your scores in the application. If you have already taken your required tests and sent your score reports to Vanderbilt, your scores will automatically be verified by Vanderbilt. Verified score reports are required to complete your application.
Please send all score reports to:
Center for Data Management - OWEN
Vanderbilt University PMB 407833
Etc

If I were you, I would request to report scores today, just to be safe.

I interviewed during a campus visit in December - if anyone has any questions, I'm happy to share my experience.

I'd love to hear what you thought of the visit and the interview. I'll be going myself next Friday and haven't heard much about the style of the interview.

Hey, no problem! I had a really great visit - I started with my interview with Jill in the morning, had a little free time, then met my student host for the day. If you're spending the day with a current student, they try really hard to pair you with someone in your intended concentration, so I was paired with a second year Health Care student. I went to a class with her, then we met up with her friend who was also hosting a prospective and the four of us went to lunch. After that, we had a group session with the Career Management Center. I was on campus from about 8:30 to 3.

As for the interview, it was very conversational. She had me walk her through my resume, the typical why MBA, why now, why Owen questions. Then she asked what companies I was targeting. Then she said "Pretend I'm a rep from this company. Give me your two minute pitch on why I should hire you." I wish I had been a little more prepared for that one - she did actually time me. The rest of the questions were pretty typical, standard B School interview questions, no tricks. Then we had plenty of time for questions - we discussed international opportunities, opportunities for experiential learning, what they look for most in someone.

All in, about 30 minutes. Everyone in Admissions is really as nice as they seem. I met one member of the AdCom on the road in New York, and when I went to reintroduce myself when I got to campus, she said "Oh no, I remember you. We met in New York. Glad you could were able to come visit!"

Good luck with your visit - hope you enjoy it! I really loved it - definitely top choice.

Thank you very much for the detailed response! Out of curiosity, when did they follow up with you to set up the schedule? I haven't heard anything from them in a while, but I believe they said they'd reach out about a week prior to the visit to finalize details.

:: Box Fail::
I requested my visit in the beginning of November for mid-December. I actually visited on the last day of classes, so there was a lot going on, and it took them a little longer to find a student host for me. I followed up with them about 6 days out and they told me they were still trying to set everything up, but they definitely had me on the schedule. They followed up with me again on a Sunday night (visit was Thursday) to confirm the details. If you don't hear from them at the one week mark, send an email to the campus visit coordinators.
