SEC football is awesome, if you yet to experience it then you are in for a treat. I applied to Owen because I really enjoyed the atmosphere, students, curriculum, and location when I visited and my Father graduated from Owen in '84. I applied to MIT because I am a big fan of quantitative solutions to business problems and in that category they are world class. I am applying to Yale because of their strength in non-profits (My career goal post MBA). And finally I am applying to Harvard because I feel they would position me best to succeed in my career goals and I am an eternal optimist. What other schools are you applying to?

UTWrestler sounds like the right reasons for all the school's listed! I have goals in the public sector, so I'm also serious about Yale. But I won't apply until R2. I can say that MIT and HBS would be great for grad school. I went to Tufts undergrad, right down the street! We were always considered the 'safety school' haha The community in Cambridge is stimulating and filled with grad students across all disciplines. I think it would be an amazing experience to attend either program, best of luck! Owen is my 1st choice because of the community. I'm in a job that fosters a strong international community across the different offices and I really enjoy it. I think the Owen community sticks with you long after graduation...... based on my discussions with alumni, etc. I'm also looking to leave NYC/big city for grad school and be in a place that is slower paced during school.

100% on the alumni. Because it is smaller the alumni will fight for you at places and always are willing to pick up the phone. Even people that are Vanderbilt UG and not Owen are receptive. The school is on the rise (Vanderbilt and Owen) and everyone is bought in and trying to contribute.

Just received a mail stating that my application is complete and that the applications submitted in this round are being reviewed and the decision will be communicated on the published date. Has anybody else received this mail? Or is it just me with a mail politely saying that I would not be getting an interview call?? Or am reading too much into this (waiting for the interview call and then for the final result is so unnerving)... When are the interview invites expected to be sent? It's almost a month from now for R1 decisions.

Got the same mail. I asked them about the invites and they said this - "Interview invitations will probably go out next week."

Is anyone attending the Discover Weekend next weekend? I just registered and am looking forward to it. Since I have not taken the GMAT yet, I don't know I will be in the ballpark of a Vandy application. I figure I need around a 700 given my low GPA in UG. However, I figure jump in head first and get a feel for the school and get extra motivation for my study plan. I am very interested to look at their Human and Organizational Performance concentration.
