kfbs has open interview policy i.e. every candidate can schedule an admissions interview after paying application fee. No separate invites are sent.

Well, my interview experience was pretty different from the norm.

The first shock was when the interviewer made me the ball of the court by asking me directly whether I want this interview to be a question answer session or a chat. Completely blank, I heard a voice inside me saying 'Chat' and that's what I actually said. And the 'grilling' session of 1.5 hrs began.

I think the major reason of the stretched interview was that I chose it to be a chat session. The first thing my interviewer asked me was, Please begin to talk. He did not ask introduce yourself or say something about yourself.... It was... Please start talking  ! Phew.... But I managed to start speaking about myself not covering the professional part as I had observed that he had literally mugged up my resume before calling me in. :-P

Well the question covered all the basic ones such as why MBA, why UNC, career etc. and other questions such as where do you want to work after MBA, have you considered the odds, how will you fund your MBA, are you comfortable only as a leader or you work in teams as well, leadership style, will you be comfortable coming back to India after MBA, etc.
I request everyone to be his/her true self otherwise it will show at some or the other point during the interview.

Basically, every response of mine prompted him to ask me more. I was surprised to see that the interview went on for an hour and a half. Well I think this will not be the case most of the times but still sharing this because candidates, specially in India, have a chance of coming across someone like my interviewer.

Kudos to you, for handling such a tough situation. Do you remember your interviewer's name?

This concerns applicants who attended the Infosession conducted in Mumbai on the 25th of September - Any idea what needs to be done to get the application fee waiver?

Good luck on attending a potentially qualifying event! Though I didn't attend, it's best to contact the Admissions office directly on getting the waiver.

The fee waiver is automatically reflected in your application in about 2 weeks time. You should also be getting a mail from the adcom regarding it.

I am back!!! Active again!! :-D

Interviews, Applications, Work & some other crazy things kept me very occupied.

I had a Skype i/v with a very senior member of ad com. I was in a hotel's meeting room and there was wi-fi problem. He was able to see my video for good 10 min. & then video didn't work. I tried reconnecting but of no use. He was fine with that, at least he had an opportunity to see me.

Coming to the i/v, it went well. He asked me to walk me through my resume & asked me lot of ques & some ques were unique but I was prepared. There were few ques which I never expected, like what kept u with ur employer for so long? & why u decided to move.
Why MBA? Why Now? Why KFBS? Extracurriculars? Hobbies? & some general ques.

Tips -
1) Be very clear about your goals and alternate path if u have to take
2) Be on top of your resume.
3) Why you want to be in KFBS? Be specific, don't give pre-cooked answers. Be unique, tell them what u like about KFBS & why.
4) Smile a lot & make an eye contact.
5) Give a chance to interviewer to ask ques.
6) Why MBA & Why Now? Very Imp.
7) Ask good ques at the end, 2 professional & 1 Social/General/Extracurricular related.
8) Last, but most imp., Be Honest & Enjoy!!

KFBS gives you an option to interview with alumni too. The list and location of alumni at different locations is listed in their application site.

Hope this helps.

I contacted an alumni through email, and he did not respond. So I went ahead and booked a phone interview. I will be sending him a mail after my interview, saying that I have completed my interview, just to keep him updated.
