Hi all!

I second what Jason said. As a fellow Ambassador for UNC Kenan-Flagler, I wanted to make sure you were all aware of the MBA Cafe events throughout the country this coming week while we are on Fall Break. I and four other current students will be hosting an informal Q&A in Charlotte, NC on October 16th from 6-8PM at NoDa Brewery so feel free to stop by!

For a full list of events please visit the 'Admissions Events' section on the Full-Time website.

If you can't make it to the events or would prefer to send an email, I can be reached at Ethan_Bowers@kenan-flagler.unc.edu. Looking forward to hearing from you all and best of luck with your applications!

I am going to MBA Cafe on 14th Oct in San Francisco. Can you confirm the location in SF? I think it's Sens at 4 Embarcadero Center.

Can anyone please throw some light on 2 month pre mba ASW course that Kenan Flagler offers?

For a full time employed person it's a loss of 2 months paychecks and 2 months of additional living expenses. Also the ASW course will cost anywhere from $3000 to $6000. Overall cost is very high which adds to your full time mba fee & expenses.

Does anyone has idea whether we can do an alternate course (such as online) which will allow us to continue full time job as well?

Please share your thoughts.

Hey guys. I'm a current second year MBA at KFBS and I'm happy to answer any questions about the program/admissions process. A little about my background: 2 years WE after undergrad with Teach For America. I'm concentrating in marketing and finance and I spent my summer internship in Seattle, WA with Amazon.com.

As far as ASW goes, it is not a requirement of the MBA program. I did not attend ASW myself because, let's face it, teachers don't make enough money to pay for unnecessary courses. The students who attended ASW loved it and definitely felt that the extra coursework helped them in the core. It also served as a great way to get to know the incoming class before recruiting heats up. I was an econ major in undergrad and taught math during my stint with TFA, so I felt that I didn't need the quant review. Realistically, if you don't attend ASW you'll have to play a little bit of catch up in the sense that you need to know certain concepts before the core begins. However, if you're familiar with Excel, Accounting, NPV and a few statistical concepts, you'll be fine.

If you have further questions, feel free to email me at matthew_beckett@kenan-flagler.unc.edu

I spoke to ad com yesterday and reported this issue. They told me that they are able to see uploaded docs. So you don't have to worry really.
If you still have issues then you can send an email MBA Outreach <MBA_Info@kenan-flagler.unc.edu> or call them.

Benefit of applying in R1/Early Action? Any idea what are the chances of acceptance in EA?

This is posted on KFBS website -

Early Action Our first cycle, October 18, 2013, is the Early Action deadline. Early Action is an option for applicants who know for certain that they will attend UNC Kenan-Flagler if admitted. Early Action provides applicants with the certainty of learning their decision by December 13, 2013. Admitted applicants in the Early Action cycle will be required to submit a $2,500 non-refundable enrollment deposit by January 6, 2014, in order to secure a space in the class (versus the regular deadline enrollment deposit of $1000). You should not apply for Early Action if you are not prepared to commit immediately to attending UNC. - See more at: https://www.kenan-flagler.unc.edu/admiss ... IQVlS.dpuf

Even I was very confused on reading this before. It means exactly what is stated above: especially if KF is your top choice school, they say it's in your best interest to apply early, so that you can get a decision early and you will have ideally no problem accepting/committing to the school. I personally started liking the school more and more, as I did research and confirmed to myself that this would be the best round to apply.

Of course I will be ecstatic if they admit me :) Hope this helps!
