Had an interview on skype with a 2nd year student. It seemed like she had a paper on her table with a list of questions from which she was asking. Also she kept noting whatever I was saying. So speak with easy and think twice what you say :)

Questions wise, they were all very regular questions: Why MBA? Why McCombs? Why now? leadership story, weakness story and so on. So if you are strong on regular questions, the interview should be a cakewalk.

Done with my interview with McCombs. It was a very conversational one. The questions were very standard in nature : Why McCombs, Short Term Goals, Alternate Short Term Goals, Normal Behavioral questions... Keeping fingers crossed now!

any interview tip ? please share your interview experiences

thanks!

Hey.. Had an interview with the same alum. He's a very polite and friendly person but don't let that fool you. He takes notes of almost everything you say and do. Make sure you have an airtight answer for why MBA, why McCombs, etc. Also think about times when you showed leadership and collaboration in culturally diverse situations.

thanks for the input!:) but sadly He didnt respond:( and nor did the mumbai alums... Switched over to skype! 18th nov! any Indians done with their skype interview???

Just had my interview. It was very conversational as others mentioned before.

I was asked pretty standard questions -

1. Tell me about yourself.
2. Why MBA?
3. Why McCombs?
4. Tell about the most significant leadership experience.
5. Tell about a time you had a conflict with your team member or senior.
6. Tell about a time when a team member wasn't pulling their weight.

Have my Skype interview tomorrow. Could people who've had the same tell me if these are blind too (like the alumni interviews)? Or do the second year students thorough with our whole application?

Thanks!

Hey!i had a discussion with many colleges in MBA fairs. They all said the same thing that second year student interviews are usually NOT blind. They spend a considerable amount of time understanding your application and prefer asking questions to gain clarity on your applications rather than spending the time understanding u as a person. so you might find the alum asking a question such as " tell me about yourself" and a 2nd year student would prefer asking " walk me through your resume" . Nways! be prepared for both..you never know..to each is own!:D all the best!! i got mine on the 18th (skype)

Decision deadline is December 18th, which is a Thursday. Per my interview last month, Stephen mentioned that I would likely hear before that. If you check last year's thread you will also see that decisions, both admit and deny, trickled in over several days before the deadline. My understanding is that they will let you know as soon as they make a decision. I would say it's reasonable to assume that decisions will start rolling out by Monday, December 15th.

I had my skype interview on 13th.

It was very professional and the interviewer did a great job. He was patient and gave me enough time to explain every side to me. It went on for 45 mins.
General questions:
1)Walk me through your resume.
2)Discuss a leadership experience.
3)Why MBA? Why Now?
4)Why McCombs/
5)How will u contribute to McCombs?
6) If you dont get a job in consulting, what else are you considering? (this one got me to think)
7)Suppose u are selected, then how will u contribute in a team because there would be chefs/lawyers/doctors etc in ur team?
8) Team conflict
9)constructive criticism
10)Questions for the interviewer.

Overall, I was very satisfied with my interview. He gave me enough opportunities to explain why I am suitable for this school.
He told me that I will hear from them in a few days. I guess he meant a month and not days because 18th Dec is far.

Lets see now. Fingers crossed.

All the best guys !
