Thanks for making the effort Ankur and congratulations on your admit. Have you decided whether you'll be matriculating?
I have scheduled my interview with Emily in a couple of weeks' time. Do you have any tips about where/how to set up the laptop and what to wear for the interview? Should they be able to see my whole body on the screen or just above the torso? How close to the laptop should I sit? Just random questions that keep popping up in my head.

Going by my experience in skype interviews,

1. Wear proper business formals. Suit tie.
2. Make sure that the background is clutter free. Best would be to have a plain wall behind you, so that the interviewer is not disturbed.
3. You can plug in the headphones. I asked for the permission and then plugged them in my ears.
4. Just the torso should be fine, so you can actually interview in shorts. But I would suggest you to get dressed properly, as it givens you a sense of seriousness

I have not received any scholarship from Tepper, so I have a tough decision to make.
I have applied to quiet a few schools in R2, so will wait for some other results and then decide

If it puts any of your minds at ease, I applied R1 with a 640 GMAT and got an interview invitation in the first wave. There were a lot of others who seemed to be much more qualified than I was who got interview invitations in later rounds. I can't speak to Tepper's methodology, but I can assure you that you shouldn't be worrying this early in the game. The invitation will come.

Additionally, I should mention that I had spoken with a member of the admissions committee on a number of different occasions. If you haven't done so yet, I HIGHLY recommend that you do. If nothing else, you can ask them to put you in touch with a current student who is studying whatever you're hoping to study. Makes for really good conversation in your interview and does not go unnoticed. In fact, I'm fairly convinced my interactions with the adcom are what got me in the first wave.

Another first rounder here: I was invited very late in the admissions cycle and got a good offer from Tepper. I was agonizing that I had a ding until late November, then got the interview invite, interviewed in early december, and got admit with a good scholarship!

If you are not invited today, your profile isn't weaker than anyone else, and don't obsess over it. Good luck!

I choose on campus interview on Jan 26, anyone else interviewing on Jan 26?

Just interviewed via Skype with the admission office yesterday. My tips for all candidates is to do mock interview with your practice partner using questions compiled on previous pages. Seriously it helped me a lot when I did the interview, the interview flows really well and feel more like conversation with her. The interview lasted about 30 minutes and overall I received good feedback about my leadership experience.

I wonder when the next wave of invites is going to be released...

Last year it looks like they were sent out towards the end of January, then a handful trickle in through mid-February. Things can always change from year to year.

I applied for Round 2 and got a mail from tepper that they would let me know about the interview decision by Jan 26th.
Felt strange after reading the posts here on how applicants for round 2 directly got their interview calls.
Anyone on the same boat as me?

Hi, it seems you are also lucky. I did not have any e-mail or notification from online application system. Now , I felt even more strange

I received following email -

"Thank you for your application to the Tepper MBA program at Carnegie Mellon University. Your Tepper MBA application has been processed and is now complete and under review by the Admissions Committee.

As a Round 2 applicant, you will be notified via email on March 25, 2015, when your decision is ready to be viewed. You can log into the online application system at that time to view your decision.

Due to a large volume of interview requests, admissions interviews are granted at the discretion of the admissions committee after an initial review of your application. Interview invitations can be extended at any time in the application process.

Please don't hesitate to contact us should you have any questions. We look forward to reviewing your application."

I believe since it only talks about the final decision, tepper might be over for me.
