Now the wait game begins.

The invites started rolling just after 2 days in Round 1.
R1 deadline was 5th October and I got my interview invite on the 7th.

I don't know how they do it :)

I agree. Due to a small miscommunication, I submitted my new score about 2 months after the application deadline and everything worked out fine. Obviously don't follow in my footsteps (submit it as soon as you can) but you do have some wiggle room. I would recommend reaching out to someone on the adcom that you've interacted with to let them know that you are planning to submit another score. There is also a spot on the application to let them know.
