I was wait listed without an interview in R1. What do you think are my chances of converting vs. someone who was interviewed and waitlisted?
I'm asking because I wonder if its worth putting in a lot of effort trying to fortify the application further or should i just focus on other schools. Any thoughts?

R1 applicants and experts:

I'm looking to apply to Tepper in R2 and complete the application soon.
Your guidance is appreciated. With regards to the app, I have a few questions:

1. Does the resume really need to be 12 font and 1 X 1 margins? I'll have to cut out a lot of stuff. I don't want to go into 2 pages.
2. There's a column in the app asking whether you've worked in the US before. If I have worked in the US (but not been employed there, only traveled for work), do I need to include it?
3. For Essay 2, what exactly does the question ask for when it talks about "fit". I get a feeling its not a Why Tepper question.

Any other tips as I look to complete the application in the next few days :)

As my dp mentions - Help!

Hey,

I had a Resume which spilled over one and a half page.
1. Although I am not saying that you can go with one, but if you have to cut down really important stuff, you can be fine with more than one page.
2. Yes you should mention about your work experience in the US and mention that it was a deputation
3. As already mentioned in the PM, it is a why you questions. Research about the class statistics and the philosophy of Tepper and then comment on why you.
Some factors such as multidimensional work, engineer background and community service can help!

All the best!

Hey Ankur! I just submitted my app. Regarding point 2, I had shot off an email to the admission office and they replied that business travel to the US should not be included in that section. But my travel to the US was not a business visit :?
Anyway I left that section blank.

Still somehow managed to crawl in :)

I think you have a good chance. Last year I had applied in R3 and after being waitlisted post my interview, was closely tracking the status of waitlisted candidates. There were quite a few candidates who after being waitlisted in R1 were asked to interview in R2 or even R3. Had it been R2 or R3 I would not be so optimistic but since its still early part of the Tepper admission cycle, you have a shot.

Good Luck.

Hi, First of all, Happy New Year 2015 to all :)
I had a rather silly doubt. The R2 deadline is 4th Jan. But what is the exact time? I mean is it until 5th Jan 12.00am EST or something else.
Anyone who can clarify this will be really helpful.

Since, it is quite ambiguous, I'd take it as close of business day time, i.e. 1700 EST not later than that.
Though submitting on the last day is one of biggest injustices that one can do to his application. Would strongly advise to submit a day earlier.
All the best. :)

Happy new year everybody! Is it just me or anyone else feel mba applications aren't quite as much fun as the school brochures make them out to be?
