I would say to really follow the school's instructions on how to proceed. In your update to Tepper, mention what you've done in the time since you applied. Also, if you want to really take another step with it, you can also talk about your fit with Tepper, and demonstrate your interest in the school (and even mention you would accept an offer IF this is true). To summarize, for Tepper, you'll have an opportunity to submit an update- make sure you can come up with something (something new you've done at work, etc.) and/or further highlight why Tepper is right for you, and vice versa.

R1 applicants and experts:
I'm looking to apply to Tepper in R2 and complete the application soon.
Your guidance is appreciated. With regards to the app, I have a few questions:
1. Does the resume really need to be 12 font and 1 X 1 margins? I'll have to cut out a lot of stuff. I don't want to go into 2 pages.
2. There's a column in the app asking whether you've worked in the US before. If I have worked in the US (but not been employed there, only traveled for work), do I need to include it?
3. For Essay 2, what exactly does the question ask for when it talks about "fit". I get a feeling its not a Why Tepper question.
Any other tips as I look to complete the application in the next few days

I can talk about items 1 and 3.
1) They don't give you a lot of direction on this, but as a rule you should never go onto a second page unless you've been working for years and years. My resume was size 12 font with half inch margins on the top, left, and right. I had a 0.30" margin at the bottom.
3) They want to know what you would bring to the class. Why would you be a good fit with the program and its students? Possible discussion points include the school/program and how it fits into your goals, the student body, and the Pittsburgh area. In my essay, I mentioned things I noticed and liked when I visited campus, different clubs that I wanted to participate in, the particular track that I was interested in studying, and even a bit about the Pittsburgh Pirates (I'm a baseball fan). I also discussed how the overall community fit with me (and thus how I would fit with it). It's a pretty open ended question so you'll need to tailor it to you and your goals, but if you've done your research and you're passionate about the school then you should be fine.
