Try to pick out my interview and confirmation of appointment email from this list of recent marketing emails.

Tepper, I love you, but please don't send emails with "YOU'RE INVITED" in the subject line while applicants are waiting for interviews.

Tepper Talk events will take place December 2-4! Tepper Talks is the culmination of our summer and fall travels, as we will host Tepper-specific events in key U.S. markets: Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, and Washington DC. The events feature an admissions presentation, a presentation from a COC Director, as well as an alumni panel and networking reception. It is the best way to experience Tepper short of visiting campus! The registration link for each event is available at:

As per last year's thread, some people got waitlisted even without interview, but I don't see any of them stating acceptance later.
Can any current student comment on it ? Is the waitlist-without-interview different from waitlist-after-interview ? :?

I am not a current student, but I think that one cannot be accepted to the program without an interview.
I think they stated something of this sort in the interview invite also, that interview is mandatory.

The waitlist you are talking about might be for the next round

Hi Everyone!

Sounds like invites are still going out. Keep your heads up, I just had my interview and although decisions come out Dec 15th my interviewer gave me the impression like they still have a lot of candidates to review.

Anyways, here's a quick debrief of my interview. It was over Skype (all of the on-campus interview slots appeared to have been taken) and it was with an adcom member. She told me that it was a "blind interview" and that all she had was my resume. Here are some of the questions she asked:
-Walk me through your professional history and background
-Elaborate a little more on your graduate education (I have a Masters)
-What is your immediate post-MBA goal?
-What is your "plan B"? She went on to admit that she asked these because they were on the application (although she hadn't seen my answer) and the reason that they asked it was to make sure that you've fully thought through your MBA decision and that you'd be open to exploring other opportunities if "plan A" didn't work out.
-Describe a time when you worked well in a team. How did that experience highlight your strengths?
-Describe a time when you had difficulties with a team member. How did you resolve this?
-Tepper attracts a diverse student body and the greater CMU popluation is a diverse community as well. Describe an interaction you've had with someone that was culturally different from you.
-What do you like to do outside of work?
-Any questions for her?

In all the interview was just around 40 minutes. It was the most conversational interview I've had to date and perhaps the most engaging. I was very pleasantly surprised with the interview and although she said she was relatively new to Tepper, I believe her interviewing skills were excellent. It was the most comfortable I've been in an interview and I left it with a very positive view of Tepper.

I think sometimes people in these interviews can forget that it can be a little of a 2 way street for both the applicant and the interviewer. This experience definitely left a positive mark on me and I can't wait to hear their final decision on the 15th!

Once again, good luck to everyone else out there that has yet to interview or hear anything! :gl

Great debrief! I think you had a great interview! All the best for that :)

Also, I think the invites left are only for domestic candidates; a similar thing had happened last time too. Correct me if I'm wrong though.

I don't know if that's entirely true. The website doesn't specifically state that. All I can see is that there are Skype interview slots going all the way to the end of the week. I'm guessing they're looking to wrap up their interviews this week and then work on finalizing all decisions next week.

my interview ended with the interviewer wishing me "best of luck for your MBA aspirations". before that there was also a small conversation about how the admission process is self selective as the school wants the best students but at the same time they should also fit with the school..

What do you guys think does this hint towards a ding or I am just thinking too much about this..

I think it may be the latter. I heard something similar as well and I thought my interview went well.

Of course that's only my perspective, I won't know for sure how well it went until decisions come out on the 15th.

I think to keep your blood pressure down and stress in check, it's probably best not to think too much into any of this for at least another week or so.
