I have a similar problem, started from 600 and have reached 650 in mock, yesterday i registered for the egmat verbal online course after taking their free trials. Take their free trials, see if you like it. What is your target split and your target score. 10 days is very short to improve drastically. However, i have seen a couple of guys improve 8-10 points in verbal with an overall spike of 80-100 points in GMAT in 10 days, visit Share GMAT experience and see how they did it. Since our workex is on a lower side i believe we should target atleast 700 in GMAT, that said and done depends how motivated are you to improve your score. Think about the possibility of not achieving your desired score as well. Contingency plan, will you be willing to take GMAT again and apply in the R2 deadline? Hopefully you wont need it but still keep that option open as well. Honestly knowing the concepts in SC is easy but when it comea to identification of errors under timed pressure its a different game. Egmat talks about Meaning, Error analysis and process of elimination, whats your mock score split? Not just Quant and Verbal but DS, PS, SC, RC, and CR. check on thr accuracy rate of each section and then decide a strategy to go ahead with each question, did u maintain an error log? If no then please go back to the questions you have answered and review your mistakes.

Also remember GMAT prep 3 scores are spiked since you have already seen many questions there. Would advice you to consider your score as average of 1 and 2 and MGMAT and then see wherr you are and where you wanna reach. How much time and effort you need to reach there.

Thanks Farhan for a quick reply.
If i take the average of 3 mock - it comes at 530 and i need 700 to even think of applying to ISB.
My accuracy in CR and RC is quite health, problem lies with SC.
I will work on SC lets see

Are you applying in round 1 and when is your GMAT? and also if i may ask - how much did you pay for egmat verbal online course.

You can see it on their site, the one which i have signed up for is 199 dollars, i have taken the date for October 12, lets hope i reach 700 plus by then. Also If you are at 550 score you need to improve in othet areas too i believe, only SC wont do the trick. Whats your verbal and quant split in mocks?

Hi Ankur,
Thanks for the reply. Good to know that ISB only considers the best score. However I went ahead and cancelled the appointment because of health issues. I see that you have already taken GMAT once and scored a good 700. I also see noticed that your MGMAT mock scores are similar to what I scored in the first two CATs. However I'm still not really sure of anywhere close to 700. How do you see the actual test compared to MGMAT CATs.
One more thing, since you have already applied to ISB once. How much time you took to complete the application process ? I'm supposing that two months should be fine. What do you say ?

- Tarun

Ya Tarun i think two months should suffice, i took my GMAT 19th of OCT and then started my application, which was to be finished before 30th Nov.
I believe that since i got an interview call, the application would have been OK :P

So yes, two months would suffice,
This time around also i am keeping around two months for application process :)
When is your GMAT?

Tarun,

2 months time is sufficient. But use it well- Good essays evolve over time, so re-read them and re-edit them.

This will sound like stupid advice, but its the most important one- answer every part of the question. Make sure every sentence you pen down is important for answering the question.

Dude, forget about the GMAT now, just concentrate on the interview.
You rock the interview, you get in
That's it... just forget all the stats :)

Go through your application as many times as you can, read between the lines, try to think all the possible questions.
If there is something which you have portrayed as very strong, make sure you know everything about it in and out.
Everything is asked from your essays and profile. Just be sure about it and you shall sail through :)
If you have any doubt, you can call me ... have pinged you the number.

All the best!!!

P.S. I am not very sure about the ratio thingy ...
P.P.S. You have an interview invite already and i am still writing my essays :P

I had received the official score report in June in which my QA percentile was 83 . Yesterday while downloading the official score report from the GMAC website , the percentile showed 81. What should I fill in the ISB application form ?I had requested score reports to be sent to ISB during my test. So I am not sure which percentile would they have received and would there be a mismatch if i mention the recent percentile. Please do reply as i need to get this cleared and then submit the application.
