So, I have a general question for the group. I know rankings don't mean everything and that there are many paths to success, but I also know there are advantages to attending top schools. Columbia is considered one of the "M7" schools. Do you think there is a dramatic difference in the networking, job opportunities, recruiting, etc... afforded to students by a school like Wharton versus Columbia? Or, Wharton versus Kellogg, MIT versus Haas, etc...
Most people say that Stanfod and Harvard are in their own league, but in terms of tangible differences in the benefits to graduates, do you think the differences between the top half of the top ten schools are really noticeable when compared to those at the schools at, say, the bottom half of the top ten?
my 2 cents: if someone has reached to this concern, he/she has probably not researched enough what the schools have to offer, or reflected on his/her career goals. Recommend talking to alumni.
