Did you or anyone you know interview before the waitlist decision?

I was waitlisted without an interview. Hope that helps.

Thanks for the reply. It does help. That is interesting though. Maybe they just dont have enough interview spots for all of their potential interviewees.

That could very well be the case. I think I was one of the first to be invited for an interview and the availability was lower than I expected.

I'm just surprised this thread has such little action. Looks like last year's thread had a lot more going on compared to this year's seeing as there's a big decline in applicants for NYU on gmatclub. Wonder if NYU in general saw a decline seeing as the other schools threads looked fairly consistent to the prior year.

Hi, I received an interview invite on 10th November.. Considering travelling to NYC for the same, but being from India, need to sort out the visa. Anyone has any clue on which category of visa to apply for a just -for-interview travel ?
Thanks

Hi, which round did you apply in?

Did anyone from round 2 (15 Nov deadline) get an invite? If not, are you aware of the date when the interview invites start rolling out?

Regards,
Shri

Hi Guys.. Does it make sense to apply in Round 3 for an Indian? What are the interview options? Can one choose Skype or Alum in the same city?

You should research R3 carefully - usually it is not a round schools look to get more than 10-20% of their class filled. It is a small group and if you don't have anything unique to add to the program, probably not worth the effort.

Stern does not conduct alum or Skype interviews, from what the admissions director has told me. All interviews for R3 and R4 are conducted at the campus. You can apply for R3 as Stern has 4 deadlines in total, however, please be aware that it will be competitive and if you get shortlisted, you'll have to fly to NYC to give the interview in person.

Finally got an interview invite yesterday night.

I've always known that the interview had to be done on-campus, but when you have to face the reality of what it means - for me, more than 25 hours of flight for one way, over 1200 USD to pay + crazy accommodation prices - you realize that this particular MBA targets either people in the US, or very rich international people - who have flexible work that enable them to travel.

Does anyone know (approximately) the chances you have to be admitted once you're interviewed?

Besides, I noticed in the statistics of the first page that there are two people who were already admitted. Does Stern release itsfinal admissions decisions on a rolling basis?

Good luck to you all - especially to those of you who have to plan a tiring and costly trip to NYC :-D
