Dear Applicants,

Hope to see you all in the chat today. Foster admissions has informed us that Foster's 2nd year student, Shweta Ahuja, will also be attending this session to answer questions regarding student community, campus culture, clubs, teaching methods, etc.

Received only the video interview.

People who received the interview mail,
did you all get both admissions and video interview or just the video interview ?

Received both video and live interview invitations. The video is due on Monday, that doesn't give much time to prepare!

Super excited about Foster. It's not as highly ranked as some of the other programs I'm looking at, but has amazing resources for doing marketing in outdoor sporting equipment and apparel companies, my dream career.

I got the video and in-person interview invite today as well. Interesting that there are two different variations of interviews going out - I could see views from both sides as to which is more advantageous to receive. A huge step in the right direction in any case - congrats!

gdyste - that sounds like an awesome route! I got to spend about 8 months up in the Seattle area for work - for climbing, hiking, boarding, and skiing (and all the equipment and marketing that goes with it), it's tough to beat!

Does being invited for an interview mean you had a weaker profile than an applicant who only was invited for the video part?

Yes. or you are overqualified. It goes both ways. I only got video-invite as well. It just means I have to take one extra step than those who got both. :)

I doubt it, because in the invitation for both the video and live interview it says that all applicants MUST do both. so if you got just a video invite, you will still have to do a live one at some point.

Some of the applicants who got only video interviews will not get the chance to do a in-person interview.

My video interview invitation states that the video invitation interview "is in addition to your admission interview. You must complete both to keep your application under review."

Do you have any clue as to what they ask in such interviews? Is any prior practice needed?

The video interview system they use does give you unlimited attempts to practice with the same interface given sample questions before you record the real deal. I have a friend who went through the process at Foster last year. He said that the practice questions available before you do the actual video interview were fairly indicative of the actual questions. He also said the video interview questions were fairly broad and standard and that the entire process went very quickly at ~10 minutes. Best of luck!
