Calling all Emory(Goizueta) Applicants: (2016 Intke) Class of 2018!!

hey guys, just submitted my application few days back - in for round 1

I had my interview last week. Let me know if anyone has any questions and best of luck!

Did the interview feel formal or more casual? What type of questions were you asked?

interview was a def a friendly conversation but in a "formal setting". The big questions I got were

1) tell me about your current position (w/ follow on questions on responsibilities)
2) what do you want to do w/ your MBA aka career goals post MBA
3) why goizueta?
4) what's something unique you could contribute to Emory
5) what do you do in your personal time

there were many other topics that came about during conversation but it def felt like a relaxed chat. I interviewed on campus at the admissions office by a admissions officer.

yup GBS has an "open interview" period from mid august to the rd1 deadline where anyone can interview w/o even having an app submitted. It's on the website.

and yeah i'm very early but i wanted to the apps out of the way. Just waiting on Stern, Haas and McCombs interviews which are invitation only

Hi All,

In interviewed at Emory recently and sat in the classes of Prof. George Easton (Six Sigma and Process Analysis) and Prof. Charles F Goetz. I enjoyed my interactions with current students and the teachers. I was blessed to have an one on one discussion with Prof. George for 45 minutes as well. The community is very good and the students are very helpful.

Here are the list of (casual) questions asked during the interview:

1. run me through your resume
2. What skills do you want to learn in B school?
3. What of your prior skills will you require in your post MBA career?
4. When and how did you hear about Emory?
5. Why would you like to study in the South East of the US? You have lived in multiple cities in India. If you had nothing to do, which city would you prefer to stay in and why?
6. Once you get your admission results, how will you choose between the offers and pick one?
7. How will you contribute to Emory?
8. Any questions for me?

Emory Round 1 deadline around the corner! Why so serious, guys??

Hi Guys,

Wonder if anyone is facing similar issues...

I submitted my Emory application yesterday.
I paid the admission fee through the "Application Fee: $150" link.
But after i paid the fees, the column did not update. It still shows an active link to "Application Fee: $150" and is marked "Awaited".

Even my GMAT score column is market "Awaited". Even though, I had sent Emory my GMAT scores back in June itself (through GMAC).


I contacted the mbaadmissions[at]goizueta[dot]com only to receive an automated response stating please access your status though OPUS.
Again, i am unable to access OPUS

No clue what to do now.

Please help
