Hi Kartikeya.
Completing SC questions in 1:00 each is super fast, and faster than most people complete SC questions, which is in about 1:30 each. So, you may be better off seeking a path to completing the Verbal section on time other than completing SC questions in 1:00 each.
That said, the Focus Edition may be a good option for you. Schools are going to use the best of your scores on the two different tests. So, if you rock the Focus Edition, schools will use your Focus Edition score.
One thing to be aware of though is that the percentiles GMAC has provided for the Focus Edition are not actual percentiles. They're predictions. So, to be safe, you may want to score higher than those percentiles indicate is necessary. They are based on people's performance on questions on the classic GMAT, and it seems likely that people will perform better on DI than on IR since they'll prepare for DI more than IR and that people will score higher on Quant than GMAC has predicted since people may rise to the challenge of Quant section scoring on the Focus Edition. So, 700+ scores on the Focus Edition may be what you should shoot for even though the predicted percentiles may seem to indicate otherwise.
