C. llism.
that the subsidies...... and that.....

thats true ! but dont u think that "those" in C) would have no logical reference ? when we treat the sentences as two restrictive clauses, then it would change the meaning of the sentence !

I think we are using to contradicting clauses. so we need to use but.

so we are left out with D and E. the use of being in E is awkward so D is my answer choice.

A

I do not think that but is required. We do not know the extent but we know that it can have tangible effect. Alos maintaining is the best here. Of course this is according to me.

Between A and C, I choose A!

C changes the meaning and it seems to say that the maintenance only impacts the farmers..

no no, actually it has. you are using "those" in isolation but those is used with subsidies, which was already mentioned. so use "those subsidies" which refers to "farm subsidies", rather only "those".

Nice call HIMALAYA :P

OA is C.

OE:

Spot the Error:
Look for Conjunctions and/or multiple descriptions. This sentence list things that are "clear".

Rule and Fix:
A list must be balanced (in structure) and must contain similar things (nouns, verbs, adjectives, etc)

POE:
A, B, D, and E all lack the word that which is necessary to balance the list: "clear that the subsidies ... and that the maintenance..."

Chunk and Compare:
No need.

Reread your choice:
Choose C
