There is a cylindrical swimming pool with a height of 4 feet and a bottom diameter of 10 feet. Now that the water depth is 3 feet and 6 inches, how many gallons of water are in the pool? (π≈3.14,1feet=12 inches,1gallon=243 cubic inches)

Now this was some crazy calculation!
1 ft = 12 inches
1 cubic ft = 12 * 12 * 12 cubic inches = 1728 cubic inches
Let's calculate the volume of water which is in the cylindrical pool.
r = 10/2 = 5 ft
h = 3ft 6in = 3.5 ft (as 1ft = 12in => 0.5ft = 6in)
V = \(pie * r^2 * h\)
= 3.14 * (5 * 5) * 3.5
= 274.75 cubic feet
= 274.75 * 1728 cubic inches
= 474768 cubic inches
243 cubic inches = 1 gallon
474768 cubic inches = 474768 / 243 gallons = ~ 1954 gallons
Hence, D -> 1954 gallons
1 ft = 12 inches
1 cubic ft = 12 * 12 * 12 cubic inches = 1728 cubic inches
