Congrats to all the admits, especially to the new father!

My status still hasn't changed. I guess no news is good news at this point.

Historically Kellogg admits everyone. Happy?

No news is not good news at this point.

Historically Kellogg sends out all admits in first two days, remains silent the third day, waitlists rest of the week and then dings left and right.

Can I ask what information you base this on? Take a look at the first page of this topic and you will clearly see that many people in Round 1 were admitted up through December 18 -- 11 days after admission decisions started coming out on December 7 -- while many people were ding'ed simultaneously. With this in mind, I tend to agree that no news is good news, especially when news is likely (based on acceptance %s) not good. I believe (rather baselessly, but optimistically) that the early admits were the "sure-ins" and I congratulate them for it, but knowing that most of us are in the middle 80%, we were not really in the running for those spots anyway. Therefore, based on this theory, the longer I can go without a ding, the more competitive within the remaining pool I become, and because that is all I can ask for, I am content to wait out the process and hope for the best.

Everyone is on edge with this decision notification process, but there is no reason to magnify that anxiety with negative speculation. We have each tried our best to present a compelling case for admittance, but not encouraging each other throughout this process is counterproductive. Kellogg is my top choice, but if I am not admitted, I have other options and life will go on just fine, as will everyone else.

Congrat's to those who are already admitted and good luck to the rest of us still waiting to hear our decision!

I think we gotta keep hope alive. After looking at the 7 posts (yes, less than me; I'm more of a lurker) that "hwshws" posted, they all express concern regardless of the topic. I think you gotta keep positive until you know for sure one way or another. Plus, why wouldn't Kellogg just ding everyone in one fell swoop at the end if that were the case that they accept then waitlist then ding the rest; so far, while I haven't seen any waitlists, but there have been both Dings & Accepts.

Stay optimistic until you get something from Kellogg one way or another. 8-)

Does anyone know if Kellogg encourages or discourages additional letters of recs from current students and alumni? Also, I am a round 2 applicant, so would it be too late in the game for me to have somebody send in an additional rec? Thanks.
