I knew going in that CBS was going to be the toughest school for me to get into...so this doesnt hurt that bad....also having a Ross admit helps :)

Re: Calling Columbia applicants for 2008 [#permalink]
I feel my essays were fine - atleast the goals essay (well I had an interview, so some reviewer thought they were). The interview was great, much much better than my Ross one. But I think my profile is a downside. I come from the two most common demographics of applicants for CBS- from financial services and Indian. Also, my UG GPA did not help me (6.8/10) and for CBS, I did not bother explaining it in the optional essay. All said and done, I think CBS is tough to get through in RD and I dont think I have a great enough profile to get through the hurdle.

Good look Oz!!!

Re: Calling Columbia applicants for 2008 [#permalink]
I didn't even get an interview. I have a couple of friends at CBS who plugged me to an admissions director and I was even able to schedule a 1 on 1 with him but that didn't help at all. I think I rushed the process a bit and though I felt that my essays were good, I definitely have a big lack of EC's.

darn! For a moment I was thrilled to see that you had posted on the CBS thread. I figured you were posting an update about your CBS admit. Well, may be tomorrow then.

damn..i thought you are going to get it dosa. early app, good essays, quick interview invite, great alum interview...I guess it just reinforces the feeling that Columbia is damn difficult for desis....no doubt fewer desis apply there..

Guys,

Any international applicant here who submitted around Jan 9th and has received invite? Do they do this for domestic applicants first then internationals or do they do it simultaneously? Any insight is appreciated.

I submitted January 7.. haven't received an invite. They have to stop sending out e-mails announcing their blogs or articles.. seriously, it kinda gave me a panic attack.
