Given that $$x \neq 2$$ and $$\frac{8-2(-4+10x)}{2-x}= 17$$ and we need to find the value of x

$$\frac{8-2(-4+10x)}{2-x}= 17$$
=> 8 - 2*-4 - 2*10x= 17*(2-x)
=> 8 + 8 -20x = 34 - 17x
=> 17x - 20x = 34-16 = 18
=> -3x = 18
=> x = $$\frac{18}{-3}$$ = -6
