Re: If x 2 and (8-2(-4+10x))/2-x= 17, what is the value of x? [#permalink]

Given that \(x \neq 2\) and \(\frac{8-2(-4+10x)}{2-x}= 17\) and we need to find the value of x

\(\frac{8-2(-4+10x)}{2-x}= 17\)
=> 8 - 2*-4 - 2*10x= 17*(2-x)
=> 8 + 8 -20x = 34 - 17x
=> 17x - 20x = 34-16 = 18
=> -3x = 18
=> x = \(\frac{18}{-3}\) = -6

So, Answer will be B
Hope it helps!
