\(\angle ABC = 180 - y\)

Property: Exterior angle is the sum of opposite interior angles

\(\angle CAB = \angle ABC + \angle BCA\)

\(x = 180 - y + z\)

\(x + y = 180 + z\)

Therefore we need the value of z to find the value of x + y

Statement 1

x = y

Doesn't provide the value of z.

Hence not sufficient

Statement 2

z = 30

Sufficient, as we require the value of z and this statement provides the same.
