Hang in there.

Thanks Ajitesh.
It's partly stress. Another contributing factor is that my routine got disrupted during the transition to working-from-home.
Stay safe!

I have been working from home for two weeks now because of the worsening COVID-19 situation.
I had imagined that my productivity would increase since I would no longer have to commute to office. Unfortunately, my productivity has taken a nose dive.

Keep working hard!! I'm here if you need me.

A big shout out to TTP on the release of their Verbal Course (Pre-Beta).
I am a big fan of the rigor of their Quant course & am very happy that a Verbal version is being released.
Hallelujah! :)

Let me share a quick update. :)
I was extremely happy when TTP released the pre-beta version of their verbal course.
On 24-April, I decided to put quant on hold & complete a couple of verbal modules from TTP. I wanted to make the same amount of progress in verbal that I had already made in quant.
For this, I had planned to complete 7 CR modules.
Am happy to report that I have completed these modules.
From now on, I shall study quant & verbal in parallel.

Thoughts on Reviewing Previously studied material:
I first got the idea of using Anki for revisions from Dan. I can't thank him enough.
I have been using Anki for three months now and am pretty happy with the results.
Now, Anki has a pretty steep learning curve.
It took me a week to get used to it. But today it takes me just 10 minutes every day for revision.
I use Anki for both verbal and quant. Trust me when I say that Anki has taken the pain out of revision.

Absolutely!
I have been only been able to take a look at the CR portion though.

Pros: Compared to the (holy) CR Bible from Powerscore, the TTP material has more practice questions. I can't tell you how much I love this.
Cons: Some TTP CR modules make for difficult reading. Some sentences run on into never-ending paragraphs! I got similar feedback from another Indian who's looked at TTP CR.

Overall, the CR material is very rigorous & structured. I can honestly say that it's one of the best CR material I have come across.
Thanks for giving us access.

Copied from my review of GMAT Club Tests

Quote:
Introduction
GMAT Club Tests are by far the the most powerful resource available in the market today.
The GMAT Club community has created such a valuable resource - it's a shame if one can't leverage it to get the best possible score.
Each question goes through an intensive peer-review process. The moderators are very responsive - quality issues get fixed very fast. This ensures a level of quality that most other test-prep companies are unable to match.
Trust me on this. I had once sent an email, pointing out a typo, to a big-name test-prep company. A couple of days later, I received a boiler-plate response directing me to their (paid) one-on-one tutoring service.

Huge shout out to @bb, @Bunuel, @chetan2u, @GMATNijna, @sayantanc2k & @souvik101990.
You guys are awesome! :)

Sectional Test vs Full Mock?
When I was just starting my preparation, I used to think that since these tests aren't as good as full mocks. Unlike full mocks, GMAT Club tests are sectional since verbal & quant tests need to be written separately.
Well, I was wrong! I realize now that sectional tests are much better for practice. You can customize your practice towards the areas that you need to focus on.
In my case, my quant ability was weak. I started from a Q39. With regular practice was able to push it up to Q49 (latest official mock).

How I used GMAT Club Tests?
As a working professional, I used to study for 2 hrs every day.
I used to take a quant test early in the morning.
Then, over the next two days, I used to review my responses.
On the fourth day, I used to write another test. Rinse, repeat.

My Approach to reviews
On average, I spent twice as much time on reviewing tests as I did writing them.
Here's how I review tests:
1) Solve all questions.
2) Check whether I can solve the question within 2 minutes.
a) If I can't, check for alternative ways of approaching the problem on the forum.
b) Finally, add the question to my error log (Anki).

Pros & Cons of GMAT Club Tests
Pros
1) Questions are of high-quality.
2) The product is very affordable (Value for Money).
3) Less time needed - ~1 hr vs 3 hrs for full mock.
4) Quant Tests are a bit more difficult than the the real GMAT - that's a good problem to have.

Cons
1) At the advanced level (~V40), you may need to supplement the Verbal Tests with other material such as LSAT.

TL;DR
Overall: Best practice tests available in the market today.
For Quant: You can't go wrong with these tests.
For Verbal: For advanced level (~V40), may need to supplement with LSAT materials.

Re: Kaladin's Kombat | My GMAT Journey [#permalink]
Update
Took the GMAT (Online) yesterday & scored a 700 (Q48 V38 IR4).
Am happy to have broken the 700 barrier. But I think I can do better.
So, I'll prep some more & retake the test in a month's time (mid Aug) - target scores: Q50 V42.

GMAT Online Experience
The GMAT (Online) experience wasn't optimum - the screen kept freezing every two minutes. I had to click more than once to select an answer choice or get the next button to work.
Also, I bombed the verbal section. I ran out of time and couldn't answer 4-5 questions.
There was also some construction going on next door, and I kept getting distracted.

TL;DR
GMAT (Online) experience wasn't optimum. Am planning to re-take the test in a month.

Last week, on the actual GMAT, I felt that RCs were tiring me more than usual. Since then, I have been practicing 2 LSAT RCs every day.
I wrote another full mock today and scored a 750. However, my low IR score is a cause for concern.

31-Jul-21 - Official 6 - 710 (Q48 V39 IR3)

In Quant, I got a couple of easy questions incorrect (mostly DS).
In verbal, I got mostly SC incorrect.
In IR, my low score continues to be a cause for concern.
