Can someone explain this question in detail ?
I've read the official solution but still not quite sure what it is trying to say.

Answer should be E...

The question is asking for the height is it not? All we know is the # of cylinders that can fit on the face defined by the length and width.

18/9 = 2 <-- diameter

9 x 5 = 45

Height can be anything though...

Can anyone please let me know.. in GMAT cylinder questions should we always assume upright cylinders or should we consider horizontal( slanting) cylinders also?
