Let the two negative numbers be X and Y.
Given, X-Y = 2
As X and Y are both negative, to get positive difference Y should be lesser than X.
X = 10+3Y
10+3Y-Y = 2
2Y = -8
Y = -4
X = 10-12 = -2
X+Y = -6
C is the answer.

solve for a & b we get -4 & -2
so -4+(-2) = -6
