[textarea]Official Explanation

Between the end of 2003 and the end of 2007 the stock of Quadruped appreciated from $15.50 to $18.25. This is a 17.74% increase. The stock of Tetrapod went from $11.50 to $13.25, for a 15.22% increase. Finally, the stock of FourFeet went from $10.75 to$12.50, for a $10.75 to $12.50 increase. Thus, the correct answer is choice (A).

The correct answer is (A).

For

I have assumed the stock of Fourfeet went from $10.5 to $12.5 which is a 19% increase which is greater than the percent increase of the stock of Quadruped.

Consequently, I have marked Fourfeet for the first drop-down question.

Now, my question is how can I assume numbers so accurately in the limited time of 2:17 min per DI question?

TIA

Hi,

You are correct with your observation.

I too would take the Fourfeet to be close to $2, as the 2003 mark is almost the same distance below 11$ as 2007 mark is above 12$. Thus, 10.50 to 12.50 is a reasonable inference.

I will try to improve the question for it to be more clear to be answered or archive it.

T: from 12 to 13 => increae 1.08 times
F: increased very little
=> Q

2. At the end of 2005, the per share price of Tetrapod, Inc. was approximately [0.43] times the sum of the per share prices of Quadruped Corp. and FourFeet, Ltd.

At the end of 2005

Q + F: 19 + 12 = 31

\(\frac{13}{31} = 0.42\)
