if x is the population of island_X then x < 5000
next the fractions are whole numbers
i.e. (1/3)x, (1/4)x, (1/5)x, (1/7)x are whole numbers.
we can take LCM of denominators to say x/420 is a whole number

now say x = 420*T for some whole number T
then; (1/3 * 420*T) + (1/4 * 420*T) + (1/5 * 420*T) + (1/7 * 420*T) = Population of Island_Y
solving this will yield 389*T = Population of Island Y

we can check from answer options which number represents 389*T
B) 4279 = 389 * 11 satisfies the ask

Please slove these maths in details
1)Find the sum of place value of the 2s in 4224?

2)If p is a positive number and p√p −p=m, which of the following must be true?
I. a is Even II. a is Positive III. a is an Integer

3)If each of the three nonzero numbers a, b, and c is divisible by 3, then abc must be divisible by which one of the following the numbers?
A.8 B.12 C.27 D.81

Can anyone tell me what does 2s mean in the question number 1?

2nd question is not properly framed.

3rd question:- If numbers a, b and c are divisible by p, q and r respectively, then the product abc is divisible by each of the following
p
q
r
pq
qr
pr
pqr

So here according to the question pqr = 27

Which is the answer.

I think If you spend >3 minutes in a question and you still dont know how to solve it, just guess and move on.

Ain’t enough.

I suggest you to revise your basics and continuously practice.

It you want to start from very scratch, I suggest you to go through mahattan prep book.

It is available for free in Kindle.

I strongly suggest you to brush up your basics, use Manhattan prep books to do that. Once your basics are clear follow the 13 week GMATNinja study plan, it’s available for free and most of the resources are free too. Please don’t go ahead haphazardly now as you have already invested few months without any organized study, follow the schedule and you will see the results.
