Hello everybody, i am currently a senior student studying economis and data science at a prestigious european university, I plan on applying to a graduate masters in business analytics programs fall 2024 in the following universities:
-Imperial Business School
-UT Austin Mccombs
- UCLA
- Duke Fuqua
-Uoft Rotman
- UBC Sauder
- USC Marshall
My stats are: Firstly my Gmat is 720. The weak side of my application is my GPA which is 3.1. However I have passed all courses related to the masters such as Advanced Statistical Methods, Machine Learning, Optimization, Big data and databases with an A* so maybe I can explain it on the supplementary essay. I interned for 4 months at a Bank as a Business Analyst. I will start working at a Big 4 audit firm as a tech consultant this June which will add another 4-6 months of experience until my application. I currently do not have a recommendation and wanted to ask you what I should prioritize in a recommendation to increase my chances. Could you please rate my chances and possibly give me tips?

Your GPA is not a killer for these programs. You really don't need to write an explanation for it because there's nothing really that's going to sway the AdCom one way or another. It'll all be clear through your transcript. Plus, you have a good GMAT score and this process is holistic in nature. If you really wanted to do something, you could consider retaking the GMAT to boost your score as a counterbalance to your GPA (not that it quite works that way, but it's something with your control).
As for recommenders, you should probably have a manager or supervisor in your current role who you trust and can speak to your professional achievements to date. You might also need a professor to talk about your academic pedigree. The latter should be from one of the courses you cite in which you succeeded. That will also help with any concerns you have about your GPA/academic capabilities.
