1051 = 1049+2

(1049+2)^2 - 1049^2 = 1049^2 + 4+2*2*1049 - 1049^2

= 4+4*1049

= 4(1+1049)

= 4 * 1050 = 4200 (E)

The given expression 1051^2 − 1049^2 is a difference of two squares. The general formula for the difference of two squares is

a^2 - b^2 = (a - b)(a + b)

Therefore, we can calculate the answer using the difference of squares formula:

1051^2 − 1049^2 = (1,051 - 1,049)(1,051 + 1,049) = (2)(2,100) = 4,200

a*2-b*2 = (a+b) (a-b)

(1051+1049) (1051-1049)
(2100) (2) = 4200
