Re: A man's total travel expense over 3 days was $42. What was his median [#permalink]

d1+d2+d3=42

#1
d2=12
so d1+d3 = 30 ; or say each day 15 or it can be any value to sum = 30 insufficient ( 12,15,15) ( 10,12,20) so on

#2
d1= 14
so d2+d3 = 28
d2=d3=14
median = 14
IMO B
sufficient

(1) On day 2, he spent $12

(2) On day 1, he spent $14

In any case the median is 14. No?

The point is that if the expenses on any day is $14, then we are left with $28 for the other two days and no matter how you break those $28, $14 will be the median.
