What is the total price of 3 hot dogs and 2 sodas at the refreshment stand? Let the price of hot dog be h and price of soda be s.. we are looking for 3h+2s (1) The total price of 5 sodas at the stand is less than the total price of 2 hot dogs. 5s<2h...Insufficient (2) The total price of 9 hot dogs and 6 sodas at the stand is$21.
9h+6s=21.. The ratio of 3:2 and 9:6 is same, so divide by 3..
$$\frac{9h+6s}{3}=\frac{21}{3}....3h+2s=7$$..Sufficient

Statement 1 is not sufficient.

Statement 2: if we divide both sides of the equation by 3, we get the answer

9h + 6s = 21
3h + 2s = 7
=> \$7
Hence, sufficient.
