If we have to career shift to management consulting, is there guidelines of what to achieve during your mBA and before the intervioew so that you are able to showcase some valueable contributions i.e. sell yourself @ consuilting interviews????

A few more options to leverage your way into the industry.

1. Join the BCN club at your school, provided it exists, and actively engage in local client projects, regardless of the remuneration.

2. Take on larger projects in your second year and apply for academic credit at the same time.

3. Attend BizComm meetings to refine presentation skills.

4. Read several articles from David Maister, the consulting guru.

Also, don't be discouraged if you don't land a MC summer internship, they're very difficult.

The Business Consulting Network/Society. Virtually all schools have one, so ask around. Here at UW we engage on projects with local businesses, some for even a marginal fee. More on this in the winter quarter when teams get assigned.

Hey guys,

You know how we all traded books on what was good/bad for GMAT prep. Any thoughts on case prep for the top consulting companies? I was told about 'The McKinsey Mind' but don't know too much about the rest. From Amazon, it looks like 'Case In Point' is good.

Please reply guys, I need your help!!
