Creating a successful marketing campaign can not only multiply sales by four times but also attract potential investors.

A. not only multiply sales by four times but also attract

B. quadruple sales but also attract

C. not only quadruple sales but also an attraction to

D. not only quadruple sales but also attract

E. not only quadruple sales by four times but also attract

The answer is D.

This is simply testing whether one knows "not only A but also B" usage.
We are left with A and D.
A is wordy, compared to the choice D.

Hence, D wins.

Correct usage to be:
Creating a successful marketing campaign can not only multiply sales by four times but also attract potential investors.

A. not only multiply sales by four times but also attract

B. quadruple sales but also attract missing not only

C. not only quadruple sales but also an attraction to X and Y not parallel

D. not only quadruple sales but also attract perfect

E. not only quadruple sales by four times but also attract

idiom usage is not only X but also Y
X and Y should be parallel with each other

In the given multiple by 4 four time is weird

D suits best

Creating a successful marketing campaign can not only multiply sales by four times but also attract potential investors.

A. not only multiply sales by four times but also attract - WRONG. 'four times' what.

B. quadruple sales but also attract - WRONG. Not idiomatic. Not only ... but also.

C. not only quadruple sales but also an attraction to - WRONG. Parallelism issue.

D. not only quadruple sales but also attract - CORRECT.

E. not only quadruple sales by four times but also attract - WRONG. Redundant.

IMO Answer D.

Creating a successful marketing campaign can not only multiply sales by four times but also attract potential investors.

A. not only multiply sales by four times but also attract -> Looks good

B. quadruple sales but also attract -> awkward

C. not only quadruple sales but also an attraction to -> Idiom not parallel : Not only (verb) but also (noun)

D. not only quadruple sales but also attract -> Looks Good

E. not only quadruple sales by four times but also attract -> quadruple sales by four times is redundant; either use quadruple or use four times

Now between A and D:
D is more concise. Remember u have to choose the best option. Ther can be more than one correct answer.

This is my understanding. Awaiting got OA, however.

The answer is "D".

A is wordy.
B makes the but also attract as if it is a negative thing, like attracting mosquitoes.
C makes it sounds like its an attraction event for investors. (Confused on it though)
E Wordy.

OFFICIAL EXPLANATION

Creating a successful marketing campaign can not only multiply sales by four times but also attract potential investors.

A. not only multiply sales by four times but also attract

This answer choice is stylistically flawed. Four times is redundant as the same meaning can be expressed in fewer words. Look for a more concise answer choice.

What helps us identify this question as a Redundancy question as well as identify this mistake is the following Stop Sign: (multiplied) one/two/three/four times

B. quadruple sales but also attract

Although this answer choice replaces the redundant phrase multiply by four times with quadruple, it misuses the structure not only X but also Y, creating a Parallelism error. But also must be preceded by not only.

What helps us identify this question as a Parallelism question as well as identify the mistake is the following Stop Sign: not only... but also...

C. not only quadruple sales but also an attraction to

Although this answer choice corrects the original Redundancy error by changing by four times to quadruple, it is still grammatically incorrect. The same part of speech that follows not only must also follow but also. Here, not only is followed by the verb quadruple. But also, however, is followed by the noun attraction.

What helps us identify this question as a Parallelism question as well as identify the mistake is the following Stop Sign: not only... but also...

D. not only quadruple sales but also attract

The phrase multiply by four times is redundant as the same meaning can be expressed in fewer words. This answer choice uses the more concise quadruple.

E. not only quadruple sales by four times but also attract

Although this answer choice replaces the redundant phrase multiply by four times with quadruple, it is still redundant. Since the verb quadruple means multiply by four times, there is no need to use the words by four times. This creates redundancy.
