plug in 2 or negative 2, and it will give you ".5 - 1.1" or -.5-1.1, which is not going to result in - 10 ( I did not complete the math), so only leaves answer choice A.
I'm going to piggy back off of your solution.
You can also realize that for \(\frac{13.5}{((1/x)-1.1)}\) to equal a negative, the term \(\frac{1}{x}-1.1\) must be < 0.
Thus, \(\frac{1}{x} < 1.1\) where you can eliminate C, D and E.
