x = +ve integer
y = 1 more than square of x

Value of x in terms of y?

Let's assume x = 4 & x^2=16. Since y is 1 more than square of x, Y should be 17.

Straight away to option D. √17-1 = √16 = 4

Is this actually a 600-700 level question?

Thank you

$$y = x^2 + 1$$

Or, $$x^2 = y - 1$$

Or, $$x = \sqrt{y - 1}$$ , Answer must be (D)
