Is that school your number 1 choice? If yes go-ahead and give your best shot.
But if there are any other schools you would apply and go to if accepted in 09 you should think more? I would rather not "settle" down because I can start school one year early.

yeah, one of the two schools is my top choice, and is very long shot, have low GMAT and GPA for the school just taking a shot in hopes my essays and work ex somehow wow them!

as for the other, that school is 3rd on my personal list of schools...

I applied to Stanford and Harvard, even though I knew my chances were almost zero. Like Kryzak said, it avoids that "what if" issue down the road.

From my own personal experiences, having the mentality that "nothing really rides on this" does wonders. When I get stressed out I tend to overthink things...and there have been many times when that has gotten me into trouble. When I was applying to u-grad schools, I didn't think that my stats were good enough for a particular school...but a few days before the app was due...on a whim...I wrote an essay that I just had fun with. There was no pressure at all...I was candid, funny, I was everything that I was afraid to be in my other essays. Well I ended up gettin in which was a huge surprise to me. My advice would to be a little more adventurous with your essays than you might normally be. Good luck!
