-5<x<3

not sufficient
(2)|x + 4| > 3
x+4>3 or x >-1
or x+4 <-3
or x+4<-7
not sufficient
combine 1 and 2
-1<x<3
combines both
hence sufficient

Statement 1 :

|x+2 | < 3

here \(<-5<x<1\) - Not sufficient because if x = -4 then |x| > 1 and if x =0 then |x| <1

Statement 2 :
\(|x+4| > 3\)
here \(x<-7 AND x > -1\) - - Not sufficient because if x = -8 then |x| > 1 and if x =0 then |x| <1


Common area is \( -1 <x < 1 \)

Here |x| < 1 - Hence Both statements are needed
