Hi,
I'm fairly new to studying for the GMAT. I'm already enrolled with perfect scores but I'm having a hard time with picking the correct answer for SC AND CR what are the BEST resources to learn basic concept? I also need tips for RC.
Can anyone suggest a good learning tool for beginners?

The best sources are OG books since they contain many questions that are best match to the real one.

To learn the concept of verbal section, you could learn from tutorial books or online courses.

With verbal guide books, you could learn from Manhattan Books, or Vertias Books. They are used by many people and a lot of people have reviewed good about these materials.

With online courses, you could buy course from Magoosh, e-Gmat,... since their courses are very popular to Gmatclub's members.

Hi nekitamckee,

The Verbal section of the GMAT is as consistent and predictable as the Quant section is, so you CAN train to score at a higher level. While SCs require a certain amount of grammar/idiom knowledge, RCs and CRs are more about learning the common 'logic patterns' involved, how to take the proper notes and how to avoid the common types of wrong answers that typically show up.

Before I can offer you the specific advice that you’re looking for, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:

Studies:
1) How long have you studied?
2) What materials have you used?
3) How have you scored on each of your CATs (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores)?

Goals:
4) What is your goal score?
5) When are you planning to take the GMAT?
6) When are you planning to apply to Business School?
7) What Schools are you planning to apply to?

I've been working with a tutor for a year now. We are currently covering arithmetic, essays, and RC. I've recently started self study because it's taking too long relying on just him. I just purchase and began revising OG2016, AND perfect scores. I'd like to apply for fall of 2018 school year. I can't remember where each fell but i did a diagnostic test and received a 330. I am very fresh

Can you go into a bit more detail about the exact type of studying that you've done? I ask because you've stated that you've been working with a tutor for a YEAR, but that you're fairly new to studying for the GMAT.

1) How many hours have you worked with this tutor?
2) How many hours would you estimate that you've studied for the GMAT in general?
3) When was the last time that you took a practice CAT exam? And was that score a 330 or something else?

I took the CAT test last month on 3/12.
I work on the GMAT every day approx an hour and a half. I say new because I am. The tutor only has me working on arithmetic, RC and essay. EVERYTHING ELSE is new to me. I just began self study after seeing the 330

The tutor and I meet twice a week 2 hours each.

For SC i suggest that you follow Manhattan SC guide and for CR, CR bible. All the best. :)

I should say that I started meeting with a GMAT study group. They are a little farther than I am ESPECIALLY IN Quant

my preference manhattan + aristotle - an economical choice
manhattan + e-gmat - slightly expensive


Covering 2 sources would give you an exposure to more questions and rules present in a different way
