Many factory workers, particularly those employed in the meat- and fish-packing industries, are required to perform repetitive motions, under close time constraints, even though the workers may develop carpal tunnel syndrome by doing it.

A. the workers may develop carpal tunnel syndrome by doing it (it has no clear referent)
B. it may cause the workers to develop carpal tunnel syndrome to do that (Same as A)
C. doing so may cause carpal tunnel syndrome to develop in the workers (Changes the meaning of sentence)
D. the workers may develop carpal tunnel syndrome by doing so (Correct)
E. it could be causing the workers the development of carpal tunnel syndrome (Same as A)
