Hello fellow GMAT aspirants,
I'm Sayali, and I recently scored a 705 (Q90, V83, DI82) on my GMAT. It took me 4 attempts to finally get here.
Nov'22 630 (V27/Q49) IR8
Jan'24 640 (V31/Q46) IR6
Jan'24 680 (V32/Q49) IR8
Mar'24 705 (Q90, V83, DI82)
Prep Experience:After my first official attempt I came across
e-GMAT and starting using the course for preparation. It really helped me improve my basics and get to a 680 score level. But after preparing for more than 1 year. 680 isn't what I was hoping for targeting.
To be honest after Third Attempt I had lost all hope. I wasn't sure how to prepare for GMAT FE and after preparing for Classic GMAT for so long it felt defeating to start with new prep. But I wanted to try one last time and I didn't feel like giving up. So I took my first GMAT FE Official Mock Test to understand where I am at and the pattern of the exam. After giving the Mock, I understood that GMAT FE is better suited for me as IR & Quant has been my strengths and I realized that if I maintain a good (80+) score in Verbal, there's still a chance for me.
But even after all this I was so low on motivation that I decided to take took few days off prep as I couldn't make myself to sit and study. Once I was back after almost one week's time, I took another Mock (Mock Test 2) identified my weaker sections and worked diligently. One thing I understood early on is to make sure to attempt each question, otherwise I will be heavily penalized. I also decided to solely rely on
Official Guide & Mock Tests for preparation this time around. I used to attempt Mock every other day and practiced similar questions that I got wrong. I also used
TTP free course & Youtube videos to work on weaker Verbal sections. I didn't have a lot of time to go through their entire course but it really helped me improve my CR.

After apprearing for the actual test I felt that the difficulty of the actual exam was similar as compared to the mocks. I will personally recommend everyone to practice questions from official gmat sources and attempt as many official Mocks.
I hope that my journey and the insights will help you in your GMAT preparation.
Remember, with the right strategy and dedication, achieving a high score is definitely within reach. If I can do it, you can do it too!
