Hi, I’m also using the Kaplan book/online resources for my prep (self-study). So far I haven’t been disappointed with the ease of use and how they break down the material. It comes with 6 practice tests and a question bank that you can use to create your own quizzes (keeps track of performance as well).

It’s a relatively low investment (I believe under $100 CAD on Amazon)

Hey ANWITA11,

Thanks for tagging us!

We understand that choosing the right course for your GMAT preparation can be daunting. And to help you make an informed decision and save invaluable prep time and money, here’s a list of factors that you should consider while choosing a course. You will need a course that offers you:

The e-GMAT course offers you all of this in a single place and more! Here are top three factors that differentiate e-GMAT Course from other courses.

  1. 4 out of the top 5 GMAT instructors globally are from e-GMAT.
  2. We not only provide you with the right resources but also assign you a dedicated mentor who guides and supports you throughout your prep tenure.
  3. A quizzing platform with granular level data analytics about your skill set to help you identify and fix all the conceptual gaps / timing / accuracy related issues.

How to Decide?

  1. Experience the free trial courses – most important step that you need to take so that you can decide which platform works for you.
  2. Talk to a Strategy Expert in a free one-to-one session. This will help you address your apprehensions, understand the process that you need to follow, and help you design a personalized strategy for your GMAT journey.
  3. Visualize your journey by going through the reviews of students who have used these platforms.

How to start from scratch and get to a 700+ score?

  • Since you’re starting off your preparation, I also wanted to provide some useful tips that will help you get started in a proper manner.
  • Start your journey by establishing a baseline of your current abilities. You do that by taking a mock that presents you the complete picture of where you stand today. You can take one of the SIGma-X mocks in our free trial course. Here is the link for the mock - https://e-gmat.com/sigma-x/ (free of charge).
  • Once you’ve identified your strengths and weaknesses, it’s critical that you build a Personalised Study Plan. This will help you cut down your prep time significantly (by around 40%).
  • Learn the right methods of solving questions - GMAT is a test of ability, a lot of students make the mistake of just practicing questions randomly without building the requisite core skills tested by these questions. You must avoid that trap.
  • Track your progress continuously with the right data points and by using a milestone-driven approach.

Here are some helpful resources (with YouTube links) that will help you start off your preparation with the right approach to solving questions in Verbal and Quant.

  1. Meaning-based approach in SC
  2. Pre-thinking in CR
  3. Reading Strategies in RC
  4. Process skills in Quant

Also, we host the World’s largest collection of GMAT success stories on ourYouTube channel. I believe you’ll find a lot of these student journeys inspiring.

Kickstart Your Preparation Now

Take a SIGma-X mock test to establish your current scores for every individual subsection. Once you have taken the mock test, you can reach out to support@e-gmat.com to schedule a 1:1 session with one of our Strategy Experts to understand how we can help you with:

  1. Get precise estimates of your current skill level in each sub-section.
  2. Decide on the sequence of preparation (example – Quant basics -> Number Properties -> Algebra or some other sequence)
  3. Set up personalized targets and accurate time estimates to improve in each sub-section.
  4. And track the improvement every day.

I have tried to be as comprehensive as possible in this post and sincerely hope you find this helpful. I look forward to hearing from you and helping you make it to 700+!

Best Regards,
Mansi
