Mine:

1) get serious about going to the gym

2) get a life after a year of preparation for b-school (GMAT classes, applications, school visits, etc.)

These are my top two as well, except my #1 is get re-serious (if I am allowed to create a word) about going to the gym. I used to work out 5-6 times per week, but since I started writing essays that has dropped to about 2-3 times per week.

1. Start dressing better. I work for a construction company, so my typical attire is a polo, jeans, and sneakers. Since I will only be 22 at matriculation, I would like to start dressing better so that I will look more professional...should help with the age thing.

2. Enjoy friends and family while I'm still local to them.

Re: New Year Resolutions [#permalink]
10 things I want to do in 2008:

1. Hit the gym seriously. Started last month and going often enough, but had to take a break for Christmas holidays. Going back from tomorrow. I'd be happy to lift my own weight at bench press and jog for an hour without interruption. I also want to get back to my year 2005 pant size.

2. Be involved with charity (human rights), collect money.

3. Decide whether I want to do an MBA or become a Chartered Accountant.
MBA pros: US/Asia exposure and career opportunities
CA pros: Cost and part-time program
If MBA, score 740+ at the GMAT, apply to H/S/W and INSEAD in R1.
if CA, pass the first level of examination.

4. Read books. Both fiction and non-fiction. Some in German (my German skills have become a bit rusty and I am thinking of applying to the Lauder Institute at Wharton).

5. See Movies (classics on DVD) and go to the cinema on a regular basis.

6. Learn how to maintain a car. Change a wheel/oil, that sort of things.

7. Take part to the annual river swim here in my city: 2000m and collect money for charity.

8. Take surf lessons.

9. Visit Rome.

10. Learn about food and wine. Cook meals and bake cakes to share with people I like.

Making up for some serious lost time.

It doesn't feel like much -- 3 days HIIT and 3 days weights - some good old cardio thrown in for good measure. Not sure how long I can keep up - lets see.

Re: New Year Resolutions [#permalink]
Yes, stupid car that hit me. I have a torn ligament, and those don't heal themselves. But sometimes this particular injury doesn't really bother people. I thought it wasn't bothering me, but that was when I was in school and the most rigorous thing I ever did was type and highlight. But since break, I've been doing crazy stuff like peeling potatoes and scraping snow off my car. That stuff hurts, and I think hurting sucks. So I'm pretty much thinking surgery is in order. I need to talk to the surgeon and find out more, of course. And it will probably have to wait until summer as I will be casted like I'm begging for alms (right hand, of course) for about a month. I guess I will try to slip it in between finals and internship....assuming I get one.

You all will be happy to know that I saw a lawyer. They know who the owner of the car is and that person has insurance. My insurance covered most of it, but I think they should at least pick up the slack. Stupid.
