Cause Effect (B). Because of the connotation of "guaranteed" instead of "likely to", the statement sounds very definitive and certain.

A)...

IMO the assumption is that the author believes that the reader of his statement studies for the GMAT. so he make this statement in the first sentence and then in the second one, he draws the analogy that the readers studies for the GMAT as well.

OA is D.

OE....

An argument that suggests taking a course of action to achieve some benefit assumes that no greater harm will result in addition to the benefit.

An argument that suggests taking a course of action to avoid some harm assumes that no greater benefit will result in addition to the harm.

This argument assumes there are no drawbacks (harms) to studying every day, such as being so tired you oversleep the day of the test or going postal from over studying and attacking your teacher!
